Not nearly as preachy or supercilious as, and with far fewer mistakes, than the usual fare. Methinks this Rehaut guy should make more frequent appearances on here.

My unofficial editor deserves all the blame.

If I ever purchase something else worth writing about, maybe. 😂

Everest contrast?

It’d be like comparing a solar panel to a tree. They both use the sun for energy but the comparison ends there

Excellent writing and recounting of an epic quest. Fun stuff and love to see more.

I too was initially hesitant about the lack of “heft” with titanium and equating it as being “less than” value wise but got over it soon enough and now enjoy several pieces that seem to just float on the wrist.

Interesting how some brands don’t seem shy about pricing titanium alongside precious metals 🤔

Anyway it’s a great looking watch even just in the pictures and that last sentence says quite a bit!

An acquisition worth waiting for no doubt!

May the author continue to enjoy it in good health for many years!

Great write up and the first that mirrors my feeling. I got impatient and bought mine on the secondary market but can tell you it is the best daily wear watch on the market.

I love mine so much I made a video of me taking it on vacation.

Yes…I’m a watch nerd lol

Great write up. It's rare to clearly appreciate that someone has acquired a fine watch for the right reasons. That is the obvious case here.

Fully susbcribe to not wanting anyone to know which watch I'm wearing beyond fellow watch nerds. That's the reason I wear my skydweller the least, so the Titanium Yachtmaster could really be the one and only "under the radar" Rolex currently available

Love reading personal stories and the journey to hunt a watch.

Also, love the idea of an off catalog with a meteorite dial 🩶

Special order soon?

That’s a great looking watch and review - thank you. Certainly worth the wait and all the dibs spent.

Quite enjoyed this review and hope to eventually see one of these in real life!

Long may the honeymoon continue :-)

Awesome review. I always thought I’d dislike the feel of the TYM; I once tried on a titanium Offshore and found the lightness off-putting. But now I really want to see a TYM in the metal. This review highlighted a lot of the less obvious merits of the watch, like the reduced heat conductivity and the brushed bracelet.

kingflum's avatar

Right!? I hadn’t even given this a second thought until I read this 😂

Grant P's avatar

Well, I tried on a titanium Pelagos and I really liked how it felt. Turns out my problem with titanium Grand Seiko bracelets was more “Grand Seiko” and less “titanium”. Likewise with the ROO. Of course the TYM would have to be utterly unobtainable at retail…

Great stuff Josh.. hoping to see it if we meet up and of course share some bourbons!

kingflum's avatar

And buckets to drink out of.

You can sit in a corner with a bucket while we drink straight out of the bottle 😂

Was alluding to his size, a bucket is a cup to him.

You had me at bourbon. Cheers bro, I hope this happens

This is the only current Rolex model I really want. I have been on the list for a while.
