Oeh this one was very educational :) thank you very much π
Still want to see how the most expensive swords are made though π
I donβt think Boom will succeed, makes no sense, they didnβt cancel Concord just for nothing, it was way too expensive to keep them flying and crash was just the opportunity to stop the exploitation. Also with regulations now nobody will accept passing the Mach over their house π€£ (I know they said just over the oceans but still).
Haaaaβ¦. So teenagers literally stink π€£
Speech was very beautiful β€οΈ power of words is always fascinating
Another great issue chocked full of informative and interesting info. Although itβs taken me several days just to read the main body Iβll still need most of the rest of this week to check out some of the links and Iβm also a couple posts behind.
Not complaining though! (Even though I have apparently gotten that reputation π€£)
Having been an avid Hodinkee fan from almost the very beginning, and then finally losing interest and unsubscribing the last few years, I found your investigative journalism and examination into their rise and fall absolutely fascinating. A lot of inside stuff I had not been aware of, and some good perspective on how and why it has been happening. They did indeed have a major impact on the enthusiast community that we now enjoy. And yes, they did have some very talented writers come and go β¦..the comment section often had some poignant and lively debate at times! It will be interesting to see how it plays out, but of course I doubt it will ever be the same. If I were still a drinking man, I would love to sit down and have a few with Jack Forster and hear some of his views on the whole thing. Heβs one of the most talented and fun to read writers in the genre (besides possibly yourself π) and I always delight in reading his stuff. (I will complain a little bit here that his Substack subscription rate is a little bit on the high side, considering the amount of content he publishes, but nevertheless, probably still worth it.)
Anyway, all in all another great read this week and good to see more readers, commenting!
Great one as always!! Iβve been using an Oura ring for over 3 years for the same reason, canβt waste wrist space for an Apple Watch and absolutely not double wristing β¦ the Oura is great, what I would also add is their customer service is top notch, my conked out in 2.5 years, post warranty and they just sent a new one - no questions asked! Try it!
Iβve been using a smart ring for about 6 months now and love it. It does give the best of health reports while allowing me to keep wearing my mechanical watches.
Fulsome, thorough, newsy and always entertaining. A true must read. Bravo.
Hehehe I like the teaser π€
I also have big FOMO about that! But hey, you can be a passenger on a fighter jet :D
Yes, I was thinking about that. But it also isnβt your first language, isnβt it?

They will be teaching the story of Hodinkeeβs rise and fall in business schools for the next decade. Probably starting in fall 2024.
I can even provide the title of the class -
βWhat happens when a passion for watches turns into a passion for money.β
Great one today king thx
Chapeau mon ami. I feel invigorated after reading your weekly pondering, now itβs time for coffee and a poo.
