Fighting watch crime, Earliest automatic chronograph in the world, Stolen Picasso recovered, Bitcoin isn’t anonymous, Global Risk Map, WoS store delayed, Fujitsu’s woes, and how to be happy.
So can relate to the cognitive dissonance and animus towards a few different marques..... sharing AP with you and although I’ve tried, just never able to work up lust for a Rolex ... tried, had one recently for just a few months ( I don’t count previous Cellini pieces I could probably wear) ... too much rooting for the underdog lifetime leaning I guess ...and a couple others IDK 🤷
Big thanks to you F for synthesizing the reports Hamza shared. I’m a fairly quantitative person but glad you did the hard work for us 😅
Interesting points again about the overall journey. I think this is what makes collecting so deeply personal and why everyone has their own story. Some are mono brand maxis, some feel they must have a mix of materials, brands, complications etc.
I continue to learn and adopt knowledge or different ways of thinking from your posts over the last months and continue to appreciate it. (If not at least saving my bank balance from acquiring numerous shitters in the name of aspiring to be a collector 😂).
Love the group too, great to have a town square with some knowledgeable people that we can share AP anus comments and the £1 fish man with. 😂
Pleasure man, it is also useful to have it here for posterity in my case, as I am sure it will be referenced again at a later date - at which point I will never find the report.
Happy to be the anti-enabler... for what its worth I live by the 'less is more' mantra... unlike many of the degenerates in that group!
Your point about relieving the chaos of collecting multi-brands is an apt one. I feel that collectors need to refine, if only to limit distraction. I collect a single brand, and a specific dial hallmark, which has been wonderfully freeing. I find this allows me to enjoy other watches for what they are, not in my collection. Has AP released a new bracelet? How is it better than before? Has Journe changed a font? Does it really matter to me? Seiko’s new releases can all be looked at objectively as they won’t be in my collection.
Top G! Finally took some time this morning to have a coffee and read.
Just a side note on WoS downgrade and publics spending choices.
I too, believe prices and sales will continue to fall, cliental with the life luxury of spending 7/8/10k+ on a watch are generally smart and switched on.
If Rolex called me today on my allocation I would turn it down.
I still want the watch, but with economic uncertainty, still the worst of a recession to come IMO and maybe even the likes of War rocking the landscape even more, it would be unwise for me to purchase a tike piece when I'm lucky enough to already own a few.
I feel I'm not the only one that will have a similar view and not spend even though we are fortunate enough to be able too.
At one time we partnered with Fujitsu on printers. Complete clown show indeed.
lol!

I dunno man, you seemed to dig that Yacht Master quite a bit? I hear you though, its an easy one to hate!
It did, and still does, had its own certain charm.... 🤔🤫😕

I'm off to get some £1 fish...
I can see already this is going to be a mammouth read! 😰
Come on, I even shortened it! 😂
Well it was a long scroll to the bottom ⬇️....here goes 🚀🛸
While you’re here you can restack it for the metrics 🥂😁

Bang on, yeah. It’s all mental gymnastics I suppose, but it works! 😂

Been too long! Glad you finally got a chance to read.
Indeed, I think we're into the year of pragmatism in 2024... enjoying life more responsibly and less frivolously :)
As always, we remain grateful for all the good!
