Over the years I have read numerous articles, commentary and history of, as well as the evolution of, the Swatch Group but none of it has even approached the magnitude of this avalanche of well organized data, stories and trivia. (Of course there’s likely a whole book that goes even more into detail than this article but I doubt I would feel the interest to go much deeper)

Well written and as concise as something as big as this could probably be!

👏🏻👏🏻. 🫶🏼🥂

BTW….. I wouldn’t mind an offshoot of this re: the rise and accomplishments of JCB from this era on……Blancpain, Omega, Hublot et al with a big dash of the inside dirt and grit😜

Not a bad idea! JCB has a great story in his own right… but I wonder whether anyone actually cares … besides you! :)

🖕🏼….. 🤣😂🤓…. Come on the guy is bigger than Life and created some monstrosities but he also did some great things as well! Maybe not on the level of Günter Blümlein, Nicolas Hayak and a few others but he’s been a player 🎲 🎲

For sure 👍

Seconded!

The problem with doing a personal profile with dirt, is finding reliable sources. As for a general resume, that’s been done to death surely?

I understand, perhaps as your reputation as a muckraker grows, the dirt will find its way to you. However, don't underestimate your talent for writing a tale already told, better. Countless examples here.

I certainly hope this reputation leads to more good things than bad 😂 - and thank you for the kind words 😃

It is interesting that they somehow didn't ever reach the heights of the 2010's during the post-pandemic surge. I always assumed that boom was the most successful business period for the industry. Measured by revenue, it is a good bit off.

More a testament to the magnitude of decline I suppose.

Somehow I missed this one 👀

So informative and interesting, I have a feeling I read the book myself heheh thanks for all the heavy work you’re doing for us :D

Appreciate the feedback… ultimately most people won’t read the book, so I figure it’s better to know something than nothing at all- my hope is that most people will read this precisely -because- they don’t care to read the whole thing. You’re obv different, and perhaps I’m creating a breed of lazy readers… but I doubt that! Most SDC readers seem to be naturally curious which I really love!

Well, tbh with your way of presenting of information I don’t mind being a lazy reader :) win is a win hahah

But jokes aside, time is limited, knowledge is endless and those type of summaries (wrong word though) are helping to navigate :D

Time... so limited!

You mention the need for a great leader. The new CEO is the son?

Who is the chief cause of decline, through sheer inept management.
